Uruguay the real end brings reflection with it

Dear all,

Welcome at this last vanbaelenguillot post. We can only say that we have been thrilled to have you follow our one year travel. We can only say that it has been the most amazing experience of our life and it has been even better as we could have dreamt about before leaving. Even if there might have been hard moments, they have easily been cancelled by all the great moments.

So quickly a short part on what has happened the last week. So Alex dropped of Mireia at the airport from where she returned to Barcelona for two weeks prior to start to work again. Alex continued north to go in the direction of Montevideo, Uruguay, from where the car will be shipped back to Belgium. Along the way there were some nice places to see, like the colonial village of Sacramento. Still, the main goal was to kill time till the car could be loaded in the car. Luckily, Virginie and Cedric were already in Montevideo and it made the one week stay there very pleasant. Not much has been done apart from hanging around and relaxing - Uruguay is in reality really a place to relax, it is really on of the most calm places where we have been. This also includes Montevideo, the capital and with 1,5 million inhabitants representing half of the Uruguayos, is super relaxed at any time of the week.

After showing lots of patience we could load the cars into the container, which all went incredibly smooth and easy due to the great preparation of the shipping company. Not much left Alex to be done but go to Buenos Aires again to catch his flight to go back to Belgium himself.

So, at the end of this trip we find it might be a good moment to give future travelers some tips, although it has never been our goal to make a blog for this. The tips we give later are purely based on our personal opinions and experiences and do not necessarily have anything to do with other travelers.

Our first tip would be: Do whatever you want, whenever you want, with whatever vehicule you want and in whatever timeframe you have. This is your trip and there is only you who matters. During a trip you meet plenty of travelers and everybody has their own way of doing it, so do as you which and let others do as they which.
